Abstract: Walls, ceilings, floors, mirrors, and updated lighting are all great ideas for simple and easy ways to increase the value of your home.

Here are a few simple, doable renovations that can add value to your home and garner a higher price when it comes time to sell.

Kitchen

The kitchen is an important room from a buyer's point of view. Open kitchens are popular, so if you have the budget, you can remove a separate wall and make the kitchen open.

You don't really need to spend thousands of dollars on renovations. Instead, drawer handles, faucets, cabinet handles and some other items are easy to replace.

For more of a change, try replacing the kitchen splash pan with new tiles.

If you're on a budget, you can also use stucco, but be careful. Bold styles tend to intimidate buyers. It's best to use neutral colors, with white preferred.

Restrooms

Before buyers come to see the house, you should always put some guest soap in the sink and spray some fragrance near the toilet.

Don't worry if the bathroom is small. If the only mirror is located on the cabinet above the vanity, installing a mirror on the wall behind you will work wonders. Buyers will see it as a bonus feature because they can see the back of their hair on the back of their head.

Swap out the plastic towel rack for a proper stainless steel one, just like in the kitchen. A few small upgrades to faucets and fittings can work wonders. If there's anything wrong with the toilet, fix it.

Surface Renewal

The most important and straightforward skills involve walls, ceilings, and floors. Don't use wallpaper unless it creates a feeling of premium grandeur.

It is recommended that walls be painted every five to ten years, depending on the quality of paint used. Families with children need to paint their walls every three years.

Unless you just painted your walls two years ago, it's best to paint them again. Here again, try to use neutral colors and avoid dark taupe or bright beige; light colors have the added benefit of making a room look more spacious.

Flooring plays an important role when a home buyer buys a home. Obviously, dirty carpets can lower the selling price of a house.

If there is enough budget, experts recommend removing the carpet and polishing the floors, but it really depends on the type of carpet.

If the carpet is in good condition and the house is too cold to live without it, then clean the carpet.

Ceilings may not be the first thing that comes to mind when selling a home, but updating the lighting is a good idea. Look for an unobtrusive and subtle feel in style and positioning.

If your budget allows, replace old light fixtures. If the bathroom is dark, consider installing a wall sconce above the vanity.

Lawn and its surroundings

If there is a garden in the front or back of the house, adding flowers is the easiest way to upgrade. Hydrangeas are good because they are low maintenance. You can also try jasmine as it is suitable for summer and has a pleasant scent.

If it's an apartment, you can buy some potted plants and put them on the balcony. If you don't have a balcony, you can put some plants indoors. Greenery can add a strength to the senses, while also reflecting an atmosphere of understated sophistication.

Attractive small changes

Mirrors are an easy way to make a room appear open by reflecting light and adding a sense of space. If you're thinking of adding a decorative wall to your living room, don't do it and replace it with a large mirror.
